I mean in reality we don't really know b/c it's not like every peaceful
protest gets reported and logged in some database where we can query and say show me the number of peaceful vs non-peaceful protests. And ones that escalate to violence either from the protesters or the authorities are almost always going to be reported. But again my point was merely that I'm not sure you can compare protesting to going to the bars since one is a right and the other isn't. I'm not even sure how the government (local, state, federal) could go about trying to keep people from protesting provided they're doing it legally. I'm sure there's probably some way you could say it was for national security or public health but I don't know that it would be well-received or hold up in court.
